The present simple

THE PRESENT SIMPLE

We use THE PRESENT SIMPLE to express our daily routines:
*I get up at half past seven.
*You go to school by car.
*He watches TV with his friends.
                                        *They always do their homework.

           AFFIRMATIVE

SUBJECT + VERB + COMPLEMENTS

My friends     use        computers  at school.

If the subject is the 3rd singular person, you HAVE TO ADD to the verb -S or -ES

USE   -ES when the verb ends:
                   *-X..............mix + es =  mixes
                   *-SS............kiss + es =  kisses
                   *-SH...........push + es = pushes
                   *-CH..........watch + es = watches
                   *-O............do + es = does
                   *cons.Y.......study + es = studIES

USE -S with the rest of the verbs.

My friend     useS               computers  at school

My friend     watchES         TV  at school.

       NEGATIVE

If we make a negative sentence, we HAVE TO USE the auxiliary verb TO DO  and change the verb into the INFINITIVE.

SUBJECT  DO / DOES   +    NOT      + VERB INFINITIVE + COMPLEMENTS
                               (DON'T/DOESN'T)

My friends      don't         use         computers at school

My friend      doesn't         watch      TV at school

INTERROGATIVE

If we make an interrogative  sentence, we HAVE TO USE the auxiliary verb TO DO and change the verb into the INFINITIVE, the auxiliary verb MUST be the FIRST WORD, or if the sentence has got a WH- question, it mus be after the wh-question.

 DO / DOES     +   SUBJECT + VERB INFINITIVE + COMPLEMENTS ?

Do    my friends   use   computers at school ?

Does   my friend    watch    TV at school  ?
